Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to securefunding from agencies and industry. Manages proposal processingoperations and supervises a team of Research Administrators insupport of research at the University of Houston.1. Plans and directs proposal development and oversees submissionoperations.2. Identifies funding opportunities and matches groups of facultywith these opportunities. Leads proposaldevelopment and ensures all stakeholders are represented during theproposal process.3. Ensures that shared core facilities are highlighted andavailable to enhance project proposals.4. Provides grant-writing and fund management support to facultymembers and grant writers in the colleges. Mayedit grant proposal narratives for grammar, adherence tospecifications of the funding agency, and compliance withUH guidelines.5. Assists in preparing budgets for proposals, includingcalculating salaries, fringe benefit costs, travel,equipment,etc, and identification of potential matching funds whenrequired.6. Secures university clearance of all proposals submitted tofunding agencies.7. Supervises team of pre-award research administrators, providingtraining and guidance as needed.8.
